Bharathanatyam
Originating 2,000 years ago in southern India, Bharata Natyam is one of the most graceful, subtle and sophisticated styles of dance art. Nurtured in the temples and courts of southern India since ancient times, Bharata Natyam is  one of the oldest dance forms of India. Passed down as a living tradition from generation to generation, the art-form became a component of temple rituals, creating an integral spiritual role for dancers and musicians. Expanding beyond the ancient traditions of the temples, the repertoire today is infused with both the richness of traditions form the past and the courage for innovation inspired by the present. Performing the dance takes years of devotion and rigorous training.

The delicate body movements and subtle facial expressions are more feminine in nature. Mohiniyattam dance celebrates the basic essence of true Indian femininity.

KUCHIPUDI
Kuchipudi, the classical dance form from Andhra Pradesh, evolved from a village of the same name, originally called Kuchelapuram. Of interest, Kuchipudi was originally performed only by men from the Brahmin community; however, the dance form gradually expanded to include both sexes.
Kuchipudi is known for its impressive, quick footwork and dramatic characterization.
